Yulie Lopez, a Class of 2013 player from Wellington, Fla., has verbally committed to Florida State, ESPNHS has learned.
Lopez plays for Coral Springs Lady Renegades, a two-time defending US Youth Soccer state champion in Florida. She has earned a spot as a defender on the Region III ODP team and the U18 Women’s National Team Camp.
On her high school team at American Heritage-Delray (Delray Beach, Fla.), Lopez plays forward and led the team with 34 goals and 17 assists last season. She also scored the game-winning goal in the state championship match last winter to lead the Stallions to their second consecutive state title.
Lopez is the third confirmed commit to Florida State for the Class of 2013, joining Virginia forward Anna McClung and Arizona goalkeeper Cassie Miller.
