Week 4 Fantasy: Start Davis, Anthrop

As part of our football coverage here, I offer up my hypothetical fantasy football picks every week. Note: This league is completely made up. If you are in a high school fantasy football league, please seek professional help.

RB — Charles Davis, Avon, Sr.

Davis has been getting better each week. On opening night, he ran for 52 yards and a touchdown. In Week 2, he went for 140 and two scores. Last week, he went crazy with 245 rushing yards and three TDs. And with rival Fishers on the schedule this weekend, expect Avon to play to its strength by running Davis as much as possible. He could see upwards of 30 carries.

Projection: 28 carries, 175 yards, 2 TDs

QB — Brandon Denning, Carmel, Sr.

Carmel has looked dominant so far this season, and Denning has been a big part of that. The first-year starter had a breakout game last week, rushing for 157 yards and three touchdowns while leading the Greyhounds past Center Grove (Ohio), 42-17. With South Vigo coming up this weekend, I think Denning will continue producing in a big way.

Projection: 4 of 6, 45 yards, 0 TDs; 10 carries, 120 yards, 3 TDs

RB — Danny Anthrop, Lafayette Central Catholic, Sr.

I'm a big fan of Central Catholic QB Austin Munn, and Munn is a big fan of Danny Anthrop. Whether it's handing him the ball or passing it to him, Anthrop is going to get a lot of touches every single week. Through the first three games, he has 360 yards rushing and 265 receiving, with 10 total touchdowns. Plug in Anthrop this week and thank me later.

Projection: 14 carries, 120 yards, 2 TDs; 4 catches, 70 yards, 1 TD

WR — Gary Harris, Hamilton SE, Sr.

I was high on Harris coming into the season, and he's been good so far. Not dominant, but good. This week, however, I'd look elsewhere for my WR production. Going up against a 3-0 Zionsville team that has allowed less than nine points per game so far, I don't see Harris breaking out for a huge game. And he's the ultimate big-play guy, so it could be boom or bust. Too risky for me.

Projection: 5 catches, 65 yards, 0 TDs

QB — Matt Brock, Ben Davis, Sr.

Brock was cool and efficient in the Giants' victory over North Central last week, going 8-of-11 for 129 yards and two touchdowns. There's a good chance he'll be running for his life this weekend, however, as he leads Ben Davis up against Warren Central, the No. 1 team in the state (No. 27 nationally in the POWERADE FAB 50). Brock will be scrambling for much of the game, which doesn't usually lead to big fantasy numbers (unless your name is Michael Vick).

Projection: 11 of 22, 120 yards, 1 TD

* Projections based on 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR format; No PPR
