Stock is rising for Crockham, Beverstock

In this week's edition of Stock Watch, we're looking at Indiana football players who saw their potential value rise or fall over the past week. A player could have had a huge game, gotten a big-time scholarship offer, or broken a leg. Whatever the case, I chart all the data (in my head) and give you the biggest movers of the week.

UP — Jamitreus Crockham, Hamilton SE

Just a sophomore, Crockham is proving that the Hamilton SE offense is about more than senior All-State WR Gary Harris. This past weekend, Crockham gave the NICKNAMES’ ground game some serious spark, rushing for 107 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a 41-20 win over Noblesville. If he can continue to keep defenses honest, Hamilton SE is a completely different team going forward.

DOWN — Logan Cunningham, Hamilton Heights WR/RB

Cunningham is the Huskies’ top offensive weapon, but he’ll have to sit out one of the biggest games of the season on Friday against Western. Cunningham was involved in an altercation in the second half of last week’s game against Northwestern and ejected, a penalty that brings an automatic one-game suspension. Cunningham went over 1,000 yards receiving last year as a junior with 20 total touchdowns, and he’s been one of the state’s most productive players this season.

UP — Isaac Beverstock, Brownsburg

What is this, the Bever-stock Watch? Ha ha! But seriously, the fullback has rushed for 1,205 yards and 10 touchdowns on the year, leading Brownsburg to a 6-1 record in what has been a rebound season. He had 166 yards in an easy win over Harrison last week. The bruiser is averaging 8.4 yards per carry, and his tough running style gives the Bulldogs their identity. Everyone should be buying stock in Beverstock.
