ESPNHS: What other school’s did you consider?
Christian Burgdorf: “Loyola, Fairfield, Navy, UMass, Princeton, Notre Dame and Bucknell.”
EHS: What made Denver such an attractive choice?
CB: “I really love the school as a whole. University of Denver is great academically and the city of Denver itself is awesome. Also, the opportunity to play for Coach Tierney and chance to win a National Championship is something that is hard to pass up.”
EHS: What surprised you about the recruiting process?
CB: “I was really surprised on how early it all came together. I did not expect to get the offers I did from such great schools at this time.”
EHS: What was the most important question you asked college coaches during the process?
CB: “Where does this school stand academically and what kind of academic support is given to the student-athletes?”
EHS: What one piece of advice would you give to other players who are just starting on the recruiting process?
CB: “Being patient. And the school that you would attend whether you were playing lacrosse or not. Also connecting with the team, and being able to see yourself on the campus.”
EHS: Is there anything about the recruiting process that you think could change that would have made it easier or less stressful for you?
CB: “I understand the NCAA rules, but it would have made it easier to have two-way communication prior to Sept 1 of my junior year.”
