ESPNHS continues its weekly feature, Around the Crease, which takes a look at players, teams and high school lacrosse news from around the country.

Look Who’s Playing

Chandler Sampson from Orono (Long Lake, Minn.) is already gaining college interest from some of the top programs in the country and he is only a sophomore.

The 5-foot-10, 140-pound attacker posted 88 points last season on 65 goals and 23 assists, helping the Spartans to a 14-3 record.

“His work ethic is fantastic. He’s always asking me what he needs to do to get better,” Orono head coach Josh Scott said. “He’s very goal-oriented. He’s a very smart player.”

Scott has fielded interest in Sampson from schools such as Cornell, Denver, High Point, Michigan and Notre Dame, among others.
