Comsewogue (N.Y.) junior chooses UMASS

Comsewogue (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) junior midfielder Taylor Fischer has made a verbal commitment to play women's lacrosse for the University of Massachusetts.

Fischer made the varsity team as a freshman and plays club lacrosse for the Long Island Yellow Jackets 2013 Blue team. The junior middie had an impressive sophomore season with 38 points and 34 ground balls and averaged two goals per game.

UMASS is a Division I program located in Amherst, Mass. The Minutewomen had a great 2011 season going 17-3, were Atlantic 10 regular season champions and won the A-10 Conference title.
