Warrior 40 alum chooses Denver

Gordie Koerber, a senior from Gilman (Baltimore, Md.) has given a verbal commitment to play men’s lacrosse for Denver University.

Koerber, who participated in the Warrior 40 in Boston, Mass. this past summer helped lead the Greyhounds to their second MIAA title in three years last season.

The Gilman rising senior had a four goal game and was named FOX45’s Prep Player of the Week for his performance in Gilman’s MIAA Championship win.

Koerber scored 31 goals and added seven assists for the Greyhounds last season.

ESPN High School: What other schools did you consider?

Gordie Koerber: “Delaware, Maryland, Villanova and Michigan.”

EHS: What made Denver such an attractive choice?

GK: “The campus was amazing and coaches Tierney, Brown, and Sheridan really made me feel like I was part of the team while I was on my visit.”

EHS: What surprised you about the recruiting process?

GK: “The speed of the commitment process for some kids really surprised me.”

EHS: What one piece of advice would you give to other players who are just starting on the recruiting process?

GK: “Don't close any doors.”
