Holy Cross is a Division I program, located in Worcester, Mass. and plays in the Patriot League.
ESPN High School: What other school’s did you consider?
Joe Reilly: “Other schools I considered were Middlebury, Amherst, Lafayette and Lehigh.”
EHS: What made VMI such an attractive choice?
JR: “Holy Cross was such an attractive choice for me because of the school's academic reputation, it's beautiful campus, and because Coach Morrissey and the guys are great.”
EHS: What surprised you about the recruiting process?
JR: “What surprised me about the recruiting process was how much work you have to do off the field, like emailing coaches, setting up visits, preparing for SATs, all while working on your game at the same time. It was a tedious process but well worth the work.”
EHS: What one piece of advice would you give to other players who are just starting on the recruiting process?
JR: “One piece of advice about the recruiting process I can give to players just starting is to choose a school that you will be happy at, with and without lacrosse.”
