The Southeast and West seasons are complete.
Vicki Graveline, Jr., West Genesee (Camillus, N.Y.), midfield
Primarily known for her defensive skills, Graveline kept West Genesee’s season alive with her offensive abilities in a 10-9 overtime victory over Corning in the Class A regional on June 2. Graveline scored the game-tying goal with 35 seconds left in regulation and then the game-winning goal in overtime to give the Wildcats the win and help them advance to the state semifinals. The junior’s two goals matched her highest offensive output of the season. Graveline has 12 goals and three assists this year. West Genesee will play Bay Shore in the state semifinal on June 8.
Anna Schueler, Jr., Loyola Academy (Wilmette, Ill.), midfield
Schueler scored five goals to help lead Loyola Academy to an 11-7 win over New Trier in the Illinois state championship game on June 1. The junior scored two goals in the first five minutes of the game and had four before halftime to help the Ramblers to a 7-5 lead. The title is Loyola’s fourth straight state championship.
