Detroit Country Day (Beverly Hills, Mich.) goalie Ahmed Iftikhar has confirmed to ESPNHS that he verbally committed to play men's lacrosse for the University of Pennsylvania.

Iftikhar is currently a senior at Detroit Country Day, but plans on doing a post-graduate year next season before heading to UPenn the fall of 2013.

The senior is the No. 3 goalie in the ESPNHS 100 and No. 20 overall.

Iftikhar has a great game and proved it as one of four goalies chosen to take part in the Warrior 40 last summer. The Michigan native does great with saving the high to low shots and can clear the ball well.

UPenn is a Division I program located in Philadelphia, Pa. The Quakers are on the rise as coach Mike Murphy's squad went (8-7, 4-3 in the Ivy League) last spring.
