Around the Crease: Feb. 23, 2012

ESPNHS continues its weekly feature, Around the Crease, which takes a look at players, teams and high school lacrosse news from around the country.

News & Notes

InsideFloridaLacrosse.com posted the results of the 2012 Preseason coach’s poll. The poll, voted on by 18 of Florida’s coaches, has defending state champion Lake Highland at No. 1 followed by St. Andrew’s at No. 2.

That follows the expected order once the boys’ POWERADE FAB 50 is released on March 7.

Staying in Florida, there is a big game Feb. 28 pitting Lake Highland against Ponte Vedra. The results of that game will impact the FAB 50 voting so check back for a quick update on the game.

A couple weeks after we posted a story highlighting the changes in lacrosse divisions in Tennessee, Knoxnews.com has a nice story on an event this weekend (Feb. 24-27) that will include Farragut (Knoxville, Tenn.), Webb School (Knoxville, Tenn.) and Father Ryan (Nashville) on the high school level, and Tennessee, Alabama, and Virginia Tech at a club collegiate level.
