Girls' Region Players of the Week

Each week during the 2012 season, ESPNHS Lacrosse will select a player from each of four regions as Player of the Week.

To submit a player for consideration fill out our submission form here. Please be sure to provide the player’s entire week's worth of performances. Athletes can earn Player of the Week honors just once during the 2012 regular season.

The following players are for the week of April 8 through 14.


Jaclyn Leto, Sr., Chatham (N.J.), attack

Leto helped her team defeat two POWERADE FAB 50 schools last week. The senior scored five goals and totaled three assists against former No. 17 Manhasset (N.Y.), in a 14-7 win. Earlier in the week Leto scored four goals in the 10-7 win over former No. 15 Mendham (N.J.). The Dartmouth commit also scored six goals in a victory over Oak Knoll to start the week, giving her 15 goals last week. Leto leads New Jersey with 40 goals this season and helped Chatham move up to No. 18 in this week’s FAB 50.


Abby Dugger, Sr., Upper Arlington (Columbus, Ohio), attack

Dugger is very integral to the Golden Bears' attack in their 9-7 win over defending state champion Medina (Ohio). Dugger tallied three assists and scored two goals and helped Upper Arlington jump out to 7-3 lead by halftime.


Mady Katz, Sr., Fort Mill (S.C.), attack

In the Lower State Championship game, which earns the winner a trip to the state championship game, Katz scored six goals to help Fort Mill defeat top ranked Wando 17-16 on Tuesday. Four days later with the state championship game on the line, Katz totaled four goals to help lead her team to the program’s first state championship. Three of Katz’s goals came in the second half to help bring the team back from a 7-4 deficit at halftime.


Mara Brandt-Law, Sr., Cherry Creek (Greenwood Village, Colo.), attack

Against the No. 1 team in California, Brandt-Law had one of her best games of the year. The senior totaled six points on four goals and two assists in a 23-11 victory. Brandt-Law has 19 goals and 14 assists this season.
