SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS, Belgium -- Esteban Gutierrez faces a five-place grid penalty for impeding Pascal Wehrlein during final practice for the Belgian Grand Prix.

Gutierrez was moving slowly through Raidillon at the top of Eau Rouge when he caught Wehrlein by surprise as the Manor drive exited the high-speed uphill chicane on a flying lap. As Wehrlein approached the Haas he had to take to the grass on the Kemmel Straight to get past, and just managed to save his Manor from a big accident. Soon after he radioed his pit wall, saying: "The f***ing idiot! What is he doing?" and asking for the incident to be investigated.

The stewards deemed Gutierrez had blocked Wehrlein and slapped the Haas driver with a five-place grid penalty and three points on his superlicence.

Gutierrez becomes the fourth driver this weekend to receive a penalty after Lewis Hamilton, Marcus Ericsson and Fernando Alonso all took penalties for changing engine components during practice.
