Grace Sisserson, a junior from Lambert (Suwanee, Ga.), has verbally commited to play women's lacrosse for Winthrop University.
Sisserson accounted for 25 ground balls and 20 draw controls last season, helping the Longhorns to a 13-3 record.
ESPNHS: What other school’s did you consider?
Grace Sisserson: "I considered several schools in Florida, North Carolina and South Carolina."
ESPNHS: What made Winthrop such an attractive choice?
GS: "Academics and the campus is beautiful. I could see myself here for the next four years. Being part of a new and growing team and the coaches at Winthrop are second to none."
ESPNHS: What surprised you about the recruiting process?
GS: "The amount of communication you have to send out on all your activities."
ESPNHS: What was the most important question you asked college coaches during the process?
GS: "I asked about extra academic help for athlete's."
ESPNHS: What one piece of advice would you give to other players who are just starting on the recruiting process?
GS: "Sign up with a Recruiting Website to help you be seen by coaches and for communication."
ESPNHS: Is there anything about the recruiting process that you think could change that would have made it easier or less stressful for you?
GS: "Having the college coaches being able to contact you verbally in your Junior year of HS would make it a lot easier."
