Girls' Region Players of the Week

Each week during the 2012 season, ESPNHS Lacrosse will select a player from each of four regions as Player of the Week.

Southeast

Milton (Ga.) junior attacker Lydia Cassada scored 11 goals and added two assists in the Eagles two wins last week. The Northwestern commit started the week with a seven goal, one assist performance in an 18-0 win over Episcopal School (Alexandria, Va.) on March 16. One day later the junior scored four goals and added an assist in a 15-3 win over last years Texas runner-up, Cy-Fair (Cypress, Texas). Milton is 5-0 this season and ranked No. XX in the POWERADE FAB 50 ESPNHS Team Rankings.

West

Thompson Valley (Loveland, Colo.) senior Maggie Mawhinney totaled 12 points on eight goals and four assists in a 19-11 win over Golden (Colo.) on March 14. The attacker followed it up with a two goals, two assists in a 9-7 loss to Regis Jesuit. Through four games Mawhinney leads Colorado in points (39) and goals (23). The senior also has 16 assists this season.
