ESPNHS continues its weekly feature, Around the Crease, which takes a look at players, teams and high school lacrosse news from around the country.
Look Who’s Playing
Sarah Curley, a sophomore attacker from Radnor (Radnor, Pa.) was named the MVP at the Philly Girls Lacrosse Showcase over the weekend and gave a glimpse of what opponents could expect this season.
Curley scored five goals to help her team to an All-Star game victory on Saturday, but last season the attacker did not play up to her standards.
“Last year I didn’t play as well as I hoped to. Last year I just didn’t have the confidence to take shots I knew I could,” Curley said. “But this year I’m ready to step it up. I’m more confident.”
Curley helped Radnor to a 14-6 record last season. The Red Raiders won the PIAA state championships in 2009 and 2010 and should be talented again in 2012.
