After games ending Sunday, Nov. 27
NOTE: With the playoffs having ended, this will be the last Michigan weekly ranking of the season.
The Michigan state football finals were a coronation of teams that had at one time or another been cast aside as afterthoughts. Cass Tech had been counted out as early as October but rallied when the postseason approached and steamrolled the competition to avenge last year's frustrating semifinal loss and win a state title. Brother Rice, which needed an invitation to even get into the playoffs, never looked back from a frustrating 5-4 regular season and won the D-2 crown. Those are just two of the incredible storylines in Michigan this season after what was an exciting season from start to finish.
1. St. Mary's Prep — defeated Mt. Pleasant, 45-7 (final regular season rank: NR)
2. Cass Tech — defeated Detroit Catholic Central, 49-13 (final regular season rank: NR)
3. Brother Rice — defeated Lowell, 24-14 (final regular season rank: NR)
