For the first time in 39 regular season games, Fort Hamilton ended up on the losing end of the scoreboard because, unfortunately for the Tigers, a mercurial Erasmus Hall squad showed its good side during their Saturday matchup.
Wayne Morgan showed why he's considered by some to be the state's top player, piling up four touchdowns in the Dutchmen's 32-14 win. The Tigers weren't helped by the loss of quarterback Marvin Centeno, who had accounted for both of the team's touchdowns before being carted off with a shoulder injury in the first half.
The win only continues the uncertainty surrounding Erasmus Hall, which has twice squandered late, double-digit leads but also beaten two ranked teams in Tottenville and Fort Hamilton. But Saturday's big win could give the Dutchmen the momentum they need with the playoffs just three weeks away.
