A year after watching Najee Glass break the national high school 500-meter mark (and then later be disqualified for a lane violation) at the New Balance Invitational, Strymar Livingston put the same record in his name at the same event.
The Columbus senior streaked to a time of 1:01.68, shattering the 28-year mark of 1:02.40 and holding off Glass (St. Benedict's in NJ) for the win.
Liverpool senior Zavon Watkins also copped gold in the boys' mile event by overtaking Mike Marsella (Chariho in RI) on the final lap to finish in a winning time of 4:14.52.
