Make way for another record-breaking QB from Kenton with the surname Mauk.
Less than a decade after Ben Mauk entered the nation's football record books, his younger brother, Maty, appears to be on a similar path. In his final season, Maty could supplant Ben as the nation's all-time leader in career passing yards while also taking down former UF signal-caller Chris Leak as the nation's top touchdown passer. The Missouri commit is less than 4,000 yards from Ben and within 35 scores of Leak.
His video game-type numbers are one reason why we picked Maty to grace our September cover of ESPNHS. Little did we know, he's not concerned with breaking records. He has his sights set on bringing a state title back home to Kenton.
"I’m not really worried about that stuff,” Maty said in the feature. “As long as we’re winning, that stuff will come."
