Football playoff round-up: Aloha, Sherwood ready to defend titles

Let's take a quick trip around the state in the first week of postseason play.

Class 6A

Aloha finally resembled the squad that won last year’s Class 6A trophy, as the Warriors took down Redmond, 41-26. Senior Cory Sinner piled up three first-half touchdowns and Ray Ayo and Jeffrey Horton returned punts for scores in the contest… Lakeridge also looked like a different team than the one that lost four in a row down the stretch, routing Glencoe, 45-27… Lincoln’s two-headed RB attack of Andrew Ellsworth and Koleman Vance accounted for more than 200 yards and two scores in a 28-16 victory over Hillsboro.

Class 5A

Junior RB Richard Ramsey gashed Parkrose’s defense to the tune of 238 yards and a score to propel Jefferson to a 36-19 victory. The Democrats overcame four fumbles in the soggy weather to advance to play at Mountain View… Sandy QB Justin Adams went off for 394 yards and tossed touchdowns to four different receivers to lead the Pioneers to a 41-7 defeat of Hood River. WR Blake Robison had seven grabs for 185 yards and a touchdown... Reigning state champ Sherwood had seven different players find the end zone, including a pair of pick-6s, in a dominant 61-0 win over Benson.

Class 4A

Dalton Mor and A.J. Prom scored twice each to help Gladstone overcome a 14-0 deficit in a 30-14-defeat of Scappoose.
