Each week, we'll take an in-depth look at our preseason All-State basketball team and let you know how a few of those athletes are faring as the season progresses. We'll feature a Prime-Time player (PTP), an Other Top Player (OTP) and an under the radar star who is making a bid to be one of the state's top players (UTR).
If you've got athletes you think we should mention in our All-State Stock Watch, hit me up on Twitter @CParishESPNHS.
PTP: Rysheed Jordan, Vaux, Junior
Philly is a city stocked with hoops talent, but Jordan might be the most complete player in the area. On Tuesday he posted a triple double — 11 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds — as his team toppled Math, Civics and Sciences. One game earlier, Jordan dropped 31 points and added eight assists in a win over Haverford School.
OTP: Geno Thorpe, Shaler, Junior
If you get to the free throw line 18 times, you've got a real chance to punish your opponent at the charity stripe. Thorpe took advantage of those opportunities in his team's game against Butler, hitting 17 of his 18 opportunities. He finished with 32 points as Shaler earned a 69-52 victory.
UTR: Allen Toth, Mount Calvary, Senior
There's plenty of great long-range shooters in Pennsylvania, but Toth might be the best of the bunch. Of his 119 field goals to this point in the season, more than half of them have been from 3-point range. He's averaging 20.9 points per game, and he put up 19 points and eight boards in a win over Hershey Christian. In 17 games, Toth has connected on 61 trifectas, and his team is 10-7 — and 6-1 in its league.
