The Virginia state finals go down tomorrow and we're giving you the scoop on each matchup involving Greater D.C. teams. Chime in with your pick in the comments section below.
AAA Division 6 — Centreville vs. Oscar Smith (4 p.m., at Scott Stadium)
These two high-octane offenses should put on a show on the gridiron tomorrow. Centreville averages 35 points a contest but it's their defense, led by LB Ken Ekanem, that will be the difference-maker in this one. I think Centreville will wrap this one up and solidify its position as a national power.
AAA Division 5 — Phoebus vs. South County (12 p.m., at Scott Stadium)
South County has rebounded from a disappointing 0-3 start and now has a shot at knocking off three-time defending champ Phoebus. While this has been a historic run for the Stallions, I'm not sure if they can withstand the hard-nosed running of Tony Pittman and run-heavy Phoebus. The senior workhorse is coming off a 37-rush, 179-yard effort last week.
AA Division 4 — Briar Woods vs. Christianburg (4:30, at Williams Stadium)
The route to a repeat will go through a tough, one-loss Christianburg squad that dismantled Broadway last week. Briar Woods' defense needs to come up big as Christianburg senior QB Brendan Motley can put points on the board in a hurry. Look for Alex Carter to have a big game as Briar Woods rolls to a second consecutive title.
