RTC: Texans plan to stay united

Reading the coverage of the Houston Texans...

A big topic of discussion on Monday centered around the Texans' character and how the locker room would react to this franchise record seven-game losing streak. Kristie Rieken of the Associated Press touched on the team's mental makeup here. Dave Zangaro of CSNHouston says the Texans plan to stay united.

It's been a little more than three weeks since Texans running back Ben Tate broke four ribs. He hasn't missed a game since and the pain is gradually getting better. Tate said Sunday, and reiterated yesterday, that he does think opponents are going for his ribs, knowing about the injury. The Houston Chronicle's John McClain visits the issue.

Sean Pendergast of the Houston Press notes that nothing changed with Gary Kubiak gone from the Texans. He ponders what that means. He also addresses an unpleasant tradition the Texans have inadvertently started and some ugly numbers.

Chris Baldwin of Houston Culture Map believes that Case Keenum's worst showing proves the Texans don't need to draft a quarterback. He suggests Jadeveon Clowney.
