Reading the coverage of the Houston Texans ...

Good morning from Indianapolis. Some pregame reading for you all.

Jerome Solomon of the Houston Chronicle knows most people aren't considering Texans interim head coach Wade Phillips a serious candidate for the Texans' head coaching job. He thinks that's a shame. Solomon notes that it's impressive that Phillips' worst season as a head coach was one in which he went 7-9.

The NFL's sack leader, Robert Mathis, will face Texans left tackle Duane Brown. That is one of the five matchups Dave Zangaro of CSNHouston.com wants you to watch today. Others are: Ben Tate vs. the Colts' run defense, J.J. Watt vs. Mike McGlynn, Andre Johnson vs. Vontae Davis and TY Hilton vs. Johnathan Joseph.
