Reading the coverage of the Houston Texans...
Texans interim head coach Wade Phillips didn't rule out the possibility of playing quarterback T.J. Yates on Sunday in Nashville, writes John McClain of the Houston Chronicle. For what it's worth, Phillips also didn't rule out the other two quarterbacks, but said Case Keenum's availability would depend on Keenum's health. He missed the Broncos game with torn ligaments in his throwing thumb.
Also from McClain: the Texans only have one healthy tight end on their roster. By the way, with one game left in the season "done for the season" sounds much more ominous than it needs to be.
Sean Pendergast delivers his colorful take on the Texans' 37-13 loss to the Denver Broncos under an open roof. He offers four winners and four losers. His winners: Randy Bullock, elementary school disciplinary tactics, sun bathers and Peyton Manning. His losers: Matt Schaub, the Texans' secondary/celebration station, Derek Carr as a Houston Texans legacy and Mike Leach.
Sports Radio 610 asked their guys to list who they want the Texans to hire as head coach and who they think the Texans will hire as head coach. The one that caught my notice: Seth Payne wants the Texans' next coach to be Greg Roman but thinks it will be Jay Gruden. Interesting.
