RTC: O'Brien vs. other Belichick proteges

Reading the coverage of the Houston Texans...

On Wednesday on this blog we ran a piece by our Patriots reporter Mike Reiss on the difference between new Texans head coach Bill O'Brien and other former assistants to Bill Belichick who became NFL head coaches. Today John McClain of the Houston Chronicle gives his own take on the same topic.

Josh Moyer, who covers Penn State for ESPN.com, spoke to Penn State football players about O'Brien's departure. He received a range of reactions, including some congratulations to their former coach, and notes of understanding.

Not to forget the draft, here's a look at Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, who might be the best quarterback in this year's draft class, from Greg Bedard of TheMMQB.com. Bedard allows that there are questions about Bridgewater's measurables, but counters those with other factors such as his maturity, intelligence and technically sound play.

James Palmer and Dave Zangaro of CSNHouston.com call themselves experts and dole out league-wide end-of-the-regular-season awards. Their MVP was Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning.
