Reading the coverage of the Houston Texans...
Randy Harvey of the Houston Chronicle offers the negatives on three quarterbacks -- Johnny Manziel, Teddy Bridgewater and Blake Bortles -- as evidence that a quarterback is not the obvious choice for the Texans with the No. 1 overall pick.
Mike Munchak might get a homecoming, writes Mark Berman of Fox 26. The Texans will interview Munchak today to be offensive line coach. John Benton, the previous offensive line coach, was fired on Wednesday. Munchak spent three decades with the Oilers/Titans franchise as a coach and player. He was fired as Titans head coach this week.
Mike Vrabel will join the Texans staff as linebackers coach, writes James Palmer of CSN Houston. Vrabel, who played for the Patriots not too long ago, leaves Ohio State's coaching staff to join the Texans.
One more link from CSN Houston. Leila Rahimi spoke with Texans head coach Bill O'Brien at the Rockets game. He called Johnny Manziel an "exciting player" but said they were a long way from deciding who they would take or if they'll even draft at that position. Didn't seem like a given after hearing Bob McNair's quotes a week ago.
