RTC: O'Brien on Bortles and Manziel

Reading the coverage of the Houston Texans...

When Houston Chronicle reporter John McClain asked Bill O'Brien to evaluate UCF quarterback Blake Bortles, O'Brien said this: "Blake is a good-sized guy. He's an athletic guy for his size. He's an accurate passer. The guys who coached him at Central Florida think highly of him as a young man who really studies the game. He works hard at the game." When he asked about Johnny Manziel he said this: "The only full games I've watched him on TV were last season's Alabama and Duke (Chick-Fil-A Bowl) games. Obviously, he's a very exciting player. He's a guy who makes plays with his feet and his arm. When you watch him on TV as a fan, he looks like an instinctive player." And when he asked about Louisivlle's Teddy Bridgewater, O'Brien said he couldn't comment because he hadn't seen Bridgewater play yet. More in McClain's Q&A with the new Texans' coach.

Here's one edition of CSNHouston's series grading the various pieces of the Texans. This one grades the coaches. The video is the work of James Palmer and the accompanying text comes from writer Dave Zangaro.

HoustonTexans.com is compiling a comprehensive list of mock draft opinions on who the Texans will take first overall. Not every analyst listed has done one yet, but most who have chose Bridgewater. A few chose Clowney. One chose Blake Bortles and one, Mel Kiper, chose Manziel.
