Reading the coverage of the Houston Texans...
We begin with another visit from Case Keenum's biggest fan. Yup, Chris Baldwin of the Houston Press weighs in on Johnny Manziel's publicity campaign. He says that it's just noise and Case Keenum is a better option for the Texans. My favorite line from this column: "The new coach hasn't said anything of significance since his introductory press conference at Reliant Stadium == the one with the marching band he probably hated." You know he hated that marching band.
John McClain of the Houston Chronicle spent some time with Manziel in California last week. He thinks Manziel's desire to be selected by the Texans is about more than being the top pick in the draft. As a Texas native, McClain says those who think that is the case just don't understand. "I came away with a different opinion than I had about Johnny Football being a wild child off the field, one destined to be followed by TMZ cameras after he became a starting quarterback in the NFL."
With the NFL combine approaching, NFL.com's Bucky Brooks takes a look at players who have done well and players who have failed in their workouts and interviews at the combine. Texans defensive end J.J. Watt was listed as the freak of the 2011 combine. Alabama's Mark Ingram was the flop.
