The former Texans backup running back talked with local media in Ohio about how difficult it was to showcase his "full worth" when playing behind Arian Foster. Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal quotes Tate as saying his legs are fresh and he can be one of the top backs in the league.
NFL.com listed Tate's signing as one of the best of free agency, calling it a shrewd deal by the Browns. Tate got a two-year deal worth $7 million.
