RTC: Ex-Texans may aid Kubiak transition

Reading the coverage of the Houston Texans...

The Baltimore Ravens have three players who spent time playing in Gary Kubiak's system -- Owen Daniels, Jacoby Jones and Justin Forsett. Ravens coach John Harbaugh is hoping they help the offense's transition to working under Kubiak, the team's new offensive coordinator, writes Ryan Mink of BaltimoreRavens.com. “He understands our schemes very well,” Kubiak said specifically of Daniels. “So, he should be like a coach on the field helping us make the transition.”

Daniels channeled his inner Steve Smith during his introductory press conference with the Ravens, writes Dave Zangaro of CSNHouston.com. (Smith, who was cut by the Carolina Panthers, said that if he returns to play the Panthers with his new team, there will be "blood and guts everywhere.") “I let go of where I was the last eight years whenever they let me go,” Daniels said. “I wasn’t good enough for them anymore, but I’m excited to be a part of this organization."

Brian T. Smith of the Houston Chronicle talks to Jadeveon Clowney and several experts to try and figure out who he will be as a pro. It's the same question NFL teams will ask themselves as they decide his value in this draft.

Smith also attended Matt Schaub's gala for his foundation on Friday. The Texans were not involved in the planning of the event this year, but Schaub still kept it in Houston and attended. The charity will have a golf tournament today.
