RTC: Clowney, Fiedorowicz should thrive

Reading the coverage of the Houston Texans...

Not only does Rob Rang of CBSSports.com think Texans outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney will thrive in his rookie season, Rang thinks Clowney will be an "immediate terror" and run away with Rookie of the Year. He also thinks tight end C.J. Fiedorowicz is a perfect fit. "After helping Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez develop into NFL stars in New England, O'Brien quickly made tight ends a weapon at Penn State. Under Joe Paterno, Penn State didn't utilize tight ends in the passing game much as evidenced by the fact that the team's tandem of Andrew Szczerba and Kevin Hamplea caught just 15 passes for 122 total yards and one score in 2011. A year later under O'Brien and the tight end production rose to a combined 82 passes for 1,090 yards and 10 touchdowns amongst four players."

Andre Johnson can't be fined for missing voluntary minicamp or voluntary organized team activities. But next week the Texans will have a mandatory minicamp and they can certainly fine him for that. Dave Zangaro of CSNHouston.com breaks down the fine money as per the collective bargaining agreement. "According to the CBA, Johnson can be fined up to $11,575 on Day 1, $23,150 on Day 2 and $34,730 on Day 3. So the total amount the team can fine him for the three days (if they choose) is $69,455."
