RTC: Art Briles wishes Case Keenum well

Reading the coverage of the Houston Texans ...

Baylor coach Art Briles stopped by the Texans' practice on Wednesday. He recruited Case Keenum to the University of Houston and told Mark Berman of Fox 26 that seeing Keenum had made the team was part of why he stopped by practice. Of course, Keenum hasn't officially made the team yet but did survive the first major test when T.J. Yates was traded away. Briles is Keenum's "guy," writes Drew Dougherty of HoustonTexans.com.

Chris Burke of SI.com says Ryan Fitzpatrick won the Texans' quarterback job by default, but wonders if that will appease absent receiver Andre Johnson. Here's the thing: Johnson skipped voluntary minicamp, too, and that was before the draft. At that point he didn't know what the Texans' draft plans were at quarterback, which could indicate that's not exactly what this is about.

Texans safety Chris Clemons hopes to win a starting job, writes Dave Zangaro of CSNHouston.com. Clemons, who signed in free agency, has missed some practice time with an injury he didn't specify.
