RTC: Red zone offense better than defense

Reading the coverage of the Texans...

Inside the red zone, the Texans offense has been much better than its defense, writes John McClain of the Houston Chronicle. Offensive red zone woes contributed to the Texans' late-season lull in 2012.

CSNHouston.com's Adam Wise offers his power rankings for the NFL. The Texans rank fifth.

Randy Bullock knows he can only move forward, writes Deepi Sidhu of HoustonTexans.com. She notes Texans coach Gary Kubiak's quote that it might have been nice for Bullock to have shorter field goal tries.

The Texans made a practice squad transaction on Tuesday. They signed tight end Nathan Overbay to the practice squad and released fullback Zach Boren, writes McClain. Houston also worked out several tight ends, according to reports.

A trend over the past few seasons continues this year. The Chronicle's Brian Smith writes about the dominance of passing offenses in the NFL.
