Texans salary cap allocation: tight ends

Finishing up the offensive part of this series, we'll now turn our attention to the Houston Texans' tight ends.

Tight ends: $4,412,445 vs cap, 7.18 percent of offensive cap, 4 percent of overall cap

Garrett Graham: $3,203,125 vs cap, 5.21 percent of offensive cap, 2.91 percent of overall cap

C.J. Fiedorowicz: $595,826 vs cap, .97 percent of offensive cap, .54 percent of overall cap

Ryan Griffin: $514,670 vs cap, .84 percent of offensive cap, .47 percent of overall cap

Anthony Denham: $98,824, .16 percent of offensive cap, .09 percent of overall cap

This was not a position where the Texans allocated much of their cap space. They decided to cut tight end Owen Daniels rather than keep him at his salary, signing Graham instead. The money the Texans spent on tight ends was 22.7 percent below the league average of $5,708,533.03. The average cap hit teams take for tight ends is $974,307.05.
