Colts cornerback Vontae Davis doubtful against Cleveland

INDIANAPOLIS -- It appears Indianapolis Colts cornerback Vontae Davis’ season debut may have to wait at least another week.

Davis, who has been out since the third preseason game with a hamstring injury, was listed as doubtful on the team’s injury report on Friday.

He was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

“He’s had a good week,” coach Chuck Pagano said. “He’s making good progress. We’ll see what [Saturday] brings and go from there.”

The Colts have a dilemma at cornerback if Davis doesn’t play because rookie Quincy Wilson was ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns due to a knee injury. They’ll have to decide if they want to start rookie Nate Hairston, who is better defending in the slot, on the outside with Rashaad Melvin, or go with T.J. Green. Green started on the outside in Week 1, but played only one snap in Week 2 against the Arizona Cardinals.

“He’s going to have to know both and play both,’’ Pagano said of Green. “It’s all hands on deck.’’

These players have been ruled out for the Colts against the Browns:

• QB Andrew Luck (shoulder)

• C Ryan Kelly (foot)

• LB Anthony Walker (hamstring)

• WR Chester Rogers (hamstring)

• RB Marlon Mack (shoulder)

Questionable

• WR Kamar Aiken (hip)

• S Darius Butler (hamstring)

• CB Chris Milton (hamstring)

• TE Brandon Williams (calf)
