Who thought a Week 17 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars would have some meaning?
It turns out it does, along with two other games being played around the National Football League next weekend.
The Colts, 23-7 winners over Kansas City on Sunday, can finish anywhere from the No. 2 seed to the No. 4 seed depending on what they do and what happens in games played by New England and Cincinnati.
Here’s a breakdown of the scenarios:
No. 2 seed: Colts beat Jacksonville, New England loses to Buffalo and Cincinnati loses to Baltimore.
No. 3 seed: Colts beat Jacksonville, New England beats Buffalo and Cincinnati loses to Baltimore OR Colts beat Jacksonville, Cincinnati wins and New England loses.
No. 4 seed: Colts lose to Jacksonville OR wins by New England and Cincinnati OR Colts beat Jacksonville and Cincinnati beats Baltimore.
I think the Colts will finish with the No. 3 or No. 4 seed because I don’t see the Patriots losing at home to the Bills.
But, hey, you never what can happen.
