INDIANAPOLIS – You knew Arthur Jones' injury was going to cause him to miss some time when he needed a cart to get him off the field and it was announced in the press box that he had suffered a high ankle sprain against Philadelphia on Monday night.
The Colts gave a better indication of where they stood with Jones when they signed free agent defensive tackle Kelcy Quarles to their active roster from New England’s practice squad on Tuesday afternoon.
Colts coach Chuck Pagano called Jones “week-to-week,” but don’t be surprised if he misses an extensive amount of time based off of how long center Khaled Holmes and guard Joe Reitz have been out dealing with similar injuries. Holmes hasn’t played since injuring his ankle on the first series against the New York Jets on Aug. 7. Reitz has been out since Aug. 28.
Quarles had 105 tackles, including 23.5 for a loss, and 13.0 sacks in his three seasons at South Carolina.
