NFLN survey/popular coach: Colts

Asking the players which coach around the NFL they would want to play for was probably my favorite – and least predictable – of the NFL Nation survey questions so far. There wasn’t a unanimous choice inside the Indianapolis Colts' locker room.

The Colts weren’t too thrilled that they couldn’t say Chuck Pagano, especially since so many of them picked quarterback Andrew Luck when asked who is the one player they would want to start a team with. The respect Pagano has from his players is incredible.

Seattle coach Pete Carroll and his outgoing personality was the top vote-getter, as 72 of the 320 players surveyed picked him. Three of those 72 players were Colts.

I’m not surprised that New York Jets coach Rex Ryan, who, like Carroll, has the type of personality that players seem to enjoy playing for, finished in the top five. He was fourth in the voting behind Pittsburgh’s Mike Tomlin and Denver’s John Fox.

Arizona coach Bruce Arians, who served as the Colts' interim coach when Pagano battled leukemia during the 2012 season, picked up two votes.
