Offensive snaps: A lot of work for Brown

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Offensive snaps for Jaguars skill-position players in Sunday’s 35-19 loss to Denver, while analyzing what it means:

QB Chad Henne 72 of 72

WR Justin Blackmon 68 of 72

WR Mike Brown 67 of 72

WR Ace Sanders 62 of 72

TE Clay Harbor 51 of 72

RB Maurice Jones-Drew 49 of 72

FB Will Ta'ufo'ou 23 of 72

RB Justin Forsett 12 of 72

WR Stephen Williams 10 of 72

RB Jordan Todman 8 of 72

TE D.J. Williams 5 of 72

WR Cecil Shorts 3 of 72

WR Denard Robinson 2 of 72

Analysis: Brown’s workload was likely significantly more than anticipated because of the shoulder injury Shorts suffered on the third offensive snap. Brown was making his first appearance since suffered a fracture in his back during the season opener and wasn’t expected to play nearly every snap. But he showed no signs of any problems and was targeted five times. … Sanders played the most snaps since he also played 62 in the season opener. Again, Shorts’ injury affected that. … After not playing last week, Robinson got on the field and got a carry after lining up as a running back. It’s clear the Jaguars don’t have a clearly defined role for him. … Stephen Williams was claimed off waivers on Monday and was targeted twice in his 10 snaps, including once on a deep ball. … Blackmon has been on the field for all but nine plays in his two weeks. … The Jaguars started the game with both tight ends on the field. D.J Williams played the second-most special teams snaps (23).
