Offensive snaps: Taylor forced into big role

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Offensive snaps for Jaguars skill-position players in Sunday’s 27-14 loss to Arizona, while analyzing what it means:

QB Chad Henne: 61 of 61

WR Cecil Shorts: 57 of 61

TE Marcedes Lewis: 49 of 61

RB Maurice Jones-Drew: 49 of 61

WR Ace Sanders: 42 of 61

WR Kerry Taylor: 35 of 61

TE Clay Harbor: 24 of 61

WR Mike Brown: 22 of 61

RB Jordan Todman: 13 of 61

FB Will Ta’ufo’ou: 10 of 61

TE Danny Noble: 4 of 61

Analysis: Taylor was forced into more action because of Brown’s injury (sprained AC joint) and was targeted five times and caught two passes for 20 yards in his first action with the Jaguars. He was claimed off waivers on Nov. 4 and sat out the Tennessee game on Nov. 10. ... Running backs Denard Robinson and Justin Forsett did not play. This is the second week in a row Forsett hasn’t played. He had a streak of 83 consecutive games played by a running back snapped when he didn’t get on the field against Tennessee. … Todman’s 13 snaps were his most since he also had 13 in Week 4. It’s clear the Jaguars are phasing Forsett out in favor of Todman, who ran the ball twice and caught one pass. … Noble was used mainly as an extra blocking tight end, with the exception of the fourth-down pass that he turned into a 62-yard catch-and-run for a touchdown. He has played a total of 13 snaps since being promoted from the practice squad on Nov. 4. … Ta’ufo’ou’s 10 snaps were his second-lowest total of the season (seven vs. San Diego). The Jaguars only ran the ball 16 times.
