The kicking game and officiating are going to be the big topics during this week's NFL owners meetings.
There three proposals concerning kickoffs, PATs and field goals -- with a fourth that will be proposed if one of the first three fails -- and four proposals regarding instant replay that will be discussed, writes ESPN's Kevin Seifert.
Since PATs have become nearly automatic (only five misses last season), several teams have proposed moving the ball back to the 20- or 25-yard line. Teams have also proposed narrowing the goal posts to make field goals more difficult.
One officiating proposal that seems to have a lot of support is allowing officials at games to communicate with a New York-based official during replay reviews.
