Every day of Jacksonville Jaguars training camp we'll have a wake-up call that previews the day ahead.
9:30 a.m. ET -- Defensive coordinator Bob Babich news conference
9:55 a.m. ET -- Practice (open to the public).
Approx. 12:15 p.m. ET -- Jaguars coach Gus Bradley news conference.
Here are some of the storylines we'll be following:
Much like in the spring, the Jaguars' younger receivers are going to have to step up because of injuries. Tandon Doss went down with a severe ankle sprain and Allen Robinson felt some tightness in his hamstring on Thursday and the Jaguars are already without Ace Sanders (leave of absence/suspension) and Cecil Shorts (hamstring). Undrafted rookie Allen Hurns took advantage of his additional reps in the spring and earned a spot on the training camp roster. He, Chad Bumphis, Lamaar Thomas, Kerry Taylor, Damian Copeland, Marqise Lee, Nathan Slaughter and Mike Brown are going to get more work. Let's see if they can take advantage of it.
Babich will speak to the media for the first time this camp and it's going to be interesting to hear his take on what he's seen from the Jaguars' revamped defensive line, how he feels cornerback Demetrius McCray has benefited from taking first-team reps in place of Alan Ball (ankle), and how LaRoy Reynolds has performed at the new OTTO linebacker position.
