LaVance Taylor's dream ends with release from Chiefs

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Running back LaVance Taylor got to live his NFL dream, but only for four days. Taylor, signed by the Chiefs on Thursday after tweeting the team his collegiate highlights and asking for a job, was released after Sunday’s practice.

Taylor, who was born and raised in the Kansas City area and played in college at nearby Central Missouri, participated in one rookie camp and two full-squad practices before his release.

The Chiefs replaced him with another running back, Darrin Reaves. Reaves rushed for 78 yards on 31 carries (2.5-yard average) last season for the Carolina Panthers. He caught five passes for 31 yards.
