Football team announces practice schedule

Here comes college football.

As hard as it may be to believe, the UCLA football team is just over a month away from organized practices. The Bruins will gather at Spaulding Field on August 9 for the first part of the NCAA acclimatization process, the program announced Wednesday.

UCLA will bust out the pads on August 13, with two-a-day practice sessions starting the following day. All practices before August 23 are open to the public.

Here's the initial schedule:

8/9 -- 3 p.m. - 6 p.m.

8/10 -- 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

8/11 -- 3 p.m. - 6 p.m.

8/12 -- 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

8/13 -- 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. (First day of full pads)

8/14 -- 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.

8/15 -- 3 p.m. - 5:15 p.m.

8/16 -- 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.

8/17 -- 3 p.m. - 5:15 p.m.

8/18 -- 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.

8/19 -- 3 p.m. - 5:15 p.m.

8/20 -- 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.

8/21 -- 5 p.m. (Scrimmage at Drake Stadium)
