Tailback Johnathan Franklin had a good night Saturday, despite not earning the start in UCLA's 35-0 loss to Stanford.
The sophomore ran for 73 yards on 11 carries and leads the Bruins with 133 yards rushing through two games. He is averaging 5.5 yards per carry.
Third-string Malcolm Jones is second, with 72 yards on 10 carries. He figures to get more work with Derrick Coleman (concussion and neck strain) out indefinitely.
"We're still as confident as we were when the season started," Franklin said.
Running the ball has not been an issue for UCLA. The Bruins are averaging just under five yards per carry and are already at 378 through two games.
