LOS ANGELES -- Here's USC Trojans coach Lane Kiffin talking to the media following his team's Wednesday practice on Dedeaux Field.
In the video, he addresses strategies he's planning to use against Stanford's slower, bigger offense, the coaching abilities of David Shaw and the blocking dominance of Robert Woods and Marqise Lee, among several other topics.
Kiffin also discussed the Tuesday suspension of Los Angeles Daily News beat writer Scott Wolf. Wolf had reported USC kicker Andre Heidari had undergone surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his knee. USC adopted a new injury-reporting policy late last month that bars reporters who cover the team at practice from writing about player injuries or strategies seen during practice.
Asked to confirm the report, which first appeared online Sunday and in Monday's newspaper, Kiffin said he had "no comment on that."
Asked why Wolf was suspended, Kiffin referred to an afternoon conference call USC athletic director Pat Haden scheduled with the sports editors at the Daily News and two other local newspapers.
"Our administration is going to address that with your editors later today," Kiffin said. "We felt that it was very clear what our expectation was, so they'll address that later."
A final determination on the reporter's suspension had not been made as of Wednesday afternoon.
