50-50 with seven minutes to play

This is going to be a close one.

Cal and USC are knotted up at 50 with 7:24 left in the game after a spirited 7-0 run by Cal.

The Trojans opened up a 50-43 lead on an Alex Stepheson jumper, but Cal forward Theo Robertson hit consecutive shots — including one 3-pointer — and point guard Jerome Randle extended the run with a jumper. Robertson and Randle have combined to score 31 points for the Bears.

If anything, USC is in a good position to be able to play its starters the rest of the way here. No one is in significant foul trouble on either team, and guards Mike Gerrity and Dwight Lewis each received some rest in the first half.
