USC first baseman Ricky Oropesa was selected to the All-Pac-10 first team Monday in a vote of the conference's coaches, his second straight such honor.
The junior led the Trojans in 2011 with a .322 batting average, seven homers and 44 RBI. His three-year numbers at USC include 40 home runs and 159 RBI. Entering the season, he was projected by some draft prognosticators as a potential first-round selection in next Monday's MLB draft, but his numbers fell off some and now most expect Oropesa to go somewhere around the third round.
USC's Joe De Pinto, Kevin Roundtree and Alex Sherrod also received Pac-10 honorable mention for the Trojans.
De Pinto, a senior second baseman, batted .300 with 11 doubles, 24 RBI and nine stolen bases. Roundtree, a junior catcher, batted .308 with a home run and 11 RBI. Sherrod, a junior outfielder, batted .318 with 11 doubles, six home runs and 35 RBI.
All three are eligible for next week's draft.
